Great Genetics. Tremendous Selection Pressure. Optimally Developed. Reasonable Prices. All this adds up to one thing —TRUE VALUE. We firmly believe that is what our customers want and deserve. This year we have not only culled deeper, but also have worked harder in the development of the sale bulls. We like to call them our Optimally Developed Genetic Delivery Systems! Our bulls are developed to maximize the number of cows they can cover over their lifetime. We strive for this genetically, phenotypically, and then make sure they are developed optimally. All of this is done with one thing in mind —TRUE VALUE for our bull buyers. We invite you to come and see for yourself on April 16. The Relentless Pursuit of FERTILITY, PERFORMANCE and LONGEVITY. You’ve seen it in our ads and on our website. But what does it really mean? If you are in the cow/calf business, we think it is a phrase that should be in the front of your mind every day. These words are paramount to profitability. Hopefully, I can explain why.

FERTILITY: First and foremost, a cow must become pregnant. We require our females to calve at 2 years of age, and rebreed every year there after in a 45-day breeding season. All open females leave our main cowherd —no exceptions, no excuses, no matter what her pedigree, no matter what her EPDs, no matter how pretty, no matter what the past history. A cow that doesn’t rebreed cannot be profitable.

PERFORMANCE: Next, this cow must raise an acceptable calf, not a 250-pound fuzzball but a good, healthy, marketable calf. In our all-grass environment, calving in the fall and wintering on stockpiled fescue, this equates to a 500+ pound calf at weaning. Again, cows not getting the job done are gone. We have no tolerance for poor producers. We also expect these calves to continue to perform in whatever environment they go into —grass based or feedlot.

LONGEVITY: Finally, the cow needs to repeat this cycle year after year. A cow that performs until 10 or 12 years old is extremely more profitable than one who falls out at 5 or 6. Not having to keep or buy as many replacement females really adds to the bottom line!!!!

Folks, we are committed to the RELENTLESS PURSUIT of the above three traits. We expect our bulls to sire replacement females with these traits locked into place. We are doing everything we can to ensure that you, our customer, will benefit from our hard work and selection pressure.

TRUE VALUE. We invite you to come and see the bulls and more importantly, our cowherd. We like to think we have the hardest working registered herd in the industry. We welcome your visit anytime.

This year’s sale will be the 14th consecutive year that Ozark Hills Genetics has sold Red Angus bulls. After 12 years as a cooperator with Pharo Cattle Company, last year we made the decision to host our sale independently at the ranch. We very much appreciate our customers over the years and invite repeat buyers and new customers alike to request a catalog and come to the ranch for this event. If you can’t be at the auction, there’s no need to miss the opportunities. See the auction and bid live on RFD-TV or bid on the internet. These options are available through Superior Livestock.

We hope you can join us sale day, Saturday, April 16, 2011 at the ranch. The sale will begin promptly at 11:00 AM CST. On Friday, April 15, 2011 at 6:00 p.m. we will have dinner and two outstanding guest speakers. Dr. Trent Smith from Mississippi State University will present some exciting hair coat research and the ever-popular Jim Gerrish will speak on the new Ranching Revolution! Everyone is invited to join us for this event.

Thank you for the trust you have placed in our program and we look forward to seeing you on April 15th and 16th.
